Set up your tent outdoors with friends and family at Winter Island. Full of history and beaches and views of Salem’s landmarks and the Fort Pickering Lighthouse, Winter Island Park is a great short getaway only six minutes from Jefferson at Salem Station and a great Labor Day Weekend destination if you can snag a campsite.
Through November 1, you can camp in a tent or RV on the Island for $27-47, plus parking fees. Enjoy the last hot days of summer or the coming chill of fall by boating around the Island, touring the land, picnicking, or lounging on the beach.
Winter Island
The City is still completing the master plan for Winter Island, and is looking to add parking lots, restoration of historic features, a seasonal cafe, and small performance areas.
