From your apartment near Salem Harbor, you might be able to see all the fun and festivities going on at the 2012 Salem Maritime Festival. But that’s no fun. Actually being at the Salem Maritime Festival and experiencing everything they have to offer is much, much better.
Here are some of the things to do at the Salem Maritime Festival on August 3 and 4 at the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.
- Children’s Activities: The kiddies will have plenty of fun things to do including radio-controlled boat racing, face-painters and kite-making. There will also be a tent dedicated to great crafts, as well as horse-drawn wagon rides. And don’t forget the muck walk down by the water at low tide!
- Harbor Cruises: Take a free, 90-minute boat ride all the way around the harbor on classic and replica vessels.
- Sunset Concert on the Salem Waterfront: On Friday night, the festival kicks off with some live music starting at 6:30 p.m. Bring a picnic and dance the night away under the stars. The artists for the concert are yet to be announced, but they’ll probably keep your toes tapping no matter what.
There’s so much more going on at the festival so check out all the fun!
